Taking the very definition and convention of traditional design to the next level, global architecture firm Populous has come up with a breathtaking final concept design for the main stadium to be used in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games in South Korea. For this project, Populous has teamed up with local design firm, Heerim Architects and Planners. The main stadium for the 17th Asian Games will seat 70,000 people for the main event in 2014 and will be reduced to the maximum seating capacity of 30,000 people after the Asian Games come to an end. The stadium will serve as a People’s Park for the city of Incheon. By the looks of final design concept, this project will be extensive but aesthetically functional and will serve the city of Incheon well for years to come after the games.
